Military chopper “breaks down” at Oconee Regional

A Marine pilot landed a Cobra helicopter at the Oconee Regional Airport yesterday afternoon for the purpose of re-fueling.  But when he went to re-start the chopper, one of the engines failed.  And now the helicopter sits in the airplane parking area in front of the terminal awaiting the arrival today of a mechanic.  The spectacle of a Cobra helicopter, with guns mounted in the front, reminded some local pilots yesterday of the Vietnam War era when Cobra helicopters were a favorite of the military.
