Minor train derailment in Seneca

A small freight train derailed on a rarely used rail line at Seneca. Yesterday’s mishap created traffic backup for about two hours for motorists approaching the Miracle Circle intersection. The police quoted a Norfolk Southern representative as saying two wheels of the train left the track near W.N. 1st and Washington Streets. That derailment sent off a sensor which caused the traffic lights at the nearby Miracle Circle to flash. No one was hurt. The mishap was reported shortly after 3 o’clock and the police reported the intersection was returned to normal two hours later.
