Minors are being trafficked for six worldwide, Rotarians told

The problem of minors being forced into the sex trade isn’t just happening in some far away country, it’s happening across the U-S and in states such as South Carolina.  At their meeting today, the Seneca Rotary Club learned about the scope of the problem and why a Seneca resident left her job as a college professor to spread awareness of what can be done about domestic minor sex trafficking.  The speaker was Dr. Dena Rapp, president and founder of Rivers of Justice, a group that works to protect children from injustice.  Rapp identified the types of children–runaways and other homeless children–who are the most vulnerable to be preyed on by pimps. She said the averge age of a victim ranged from 12 to 14 years old.
