Missing woman OK and safe

July 17, 2013

Oconee Sheriff’s Office has ended its search for a Salem woman reported missing and not heard from for three and a half weeks. Rudi Samya Murphy was reported missing by a daughter, who filed a report with deputies Monday afternoon. Jimmy Watt, office spokesman, quotes deputies as saying Murphy made contact with the daughter sometime yesterday to inform her that she was OK and safe. Later the daughter alerted deputies that her mother was fine and not under duress. The Sheriff’s Office no longer is asking for the public’s help to find Rudi Samya Murphy.
