Anthony Bosch, the founder of the now-closed Biogenesis anti-aging clinic and Major League Baseball’s key witness in its doping case against Alex Rodriguez, detailed in an interview for CBS’ 60 Minutes Sunday night, an elaborate doping program he said he designed and administered for the New York Yankees’ star third baseman, beginning in 2010. Bosch said that A-Rod, who was motivated by his pursuit of 800 career home runs, paid him $12,000 a month to provide him with banned drugs that included testosterone and human growth hormone in a program that enabled him to pass drug tests 12 times, and then he sometimes injected Rodriguez personally with the drugs. The interview came one day after MLB’s suspension of the three-time American League MVP was reduced by an arbitrator from 211 games to 162 — all of next season, plus any playoff games. Rodriguez plans to file a suit in federal court Monday to overturn the ruling.
