Moped operator allegedly carried weapons

What an Oconee sheriff’s officer called a wide right turn raised suspicions during patrol operations last Saturday near Townville. And those suspicions led to a traffic stop on Woolbright Circle near South Carolina 24 in which the operator of a moped was charged with multiple offenses. Jimmy Watt, spokesman for the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, said James Henry Nix, 24-year old Townville resident, was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
