More jail talk tonight

At least one member of Oconee County Council carries hope that something can be worked out for the county to resolve its jail needs at the existing location. From the standpoint of District Three’s Archie Barron, “First priority would be to put the jail behind the current Law Enforcement Center.” Barron said he’s hopeful something can be worked out with the city of Walhalla, though he admits the hope is slim. Discussion about the jail is to take place during tonight’s County Council meeting, where Sheriff Mike Crenshaw makes a presentation.
