Motorcycle stolen in Clemson wrecks in Walhalla

The Walhalla police say a motorcycle stolen in Clemson wrecked this morning on Playground Road and one person was taken to the Oconee Jail. Lt. Matt Patterson said the police were alerted by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office that a county sheriff’s officer had spotted the Honda CR-V motorcycle on South Carolina 183/the Pickens Highway at Country Junction, headed toward the city limits. Patterson began to follow the motorcycle from the vicinity of 183 and the Standpointe Vista Apartments to the accident scene—Playground Road and Payne Drive. According to Patterson, the accident left the motorcycle mangled.
