Mountain Rest fire

A Friday afternoon fire in Mountain Rest heavily damaged a home at 276 Bauknight Road. We have a report that the fire required the attention of 30 fire fighters for two hours. According to Charlie King, county fire chief, the fire started accidentally when the home owner tried to heat a frozen pipe. The pipe ignited a fire inside the wall that quickly spread.
