Much talked addition at treatment plant

A long-talked about acquisition for the business of collecting Oconee wastewater is about to take shape at the county treatment plant at Seneca. Bob Winchester, executive director of the Coneross Wastewater Treatment Plant, told the county Economic Development Commission construction is imminent for a septage receiving facility worth $1 million. “The beneficiaries will be the rural residents of the county. We still have 20-plus thousand septic tanks out there, primarily residential,” Winchester told the economic development commissioners. Most of the project cost is to be paid by an outside grant.
