Music, mirth and happiness at South Cove

Oconee Democratics Mullis Oconee Democratic Party leaders welcomed a crowd last night for a party fundraiser under the pavilion at South Cove Park on Lake Keowee. The Democrats’ Paulette Keffas-Chassin pronounced the evening a happy event and said the party was glad to realize the proceeds of the $20 dollar admittance charge for the coffers of the county party, as it goes about contesting in this fall’s General Election. Two of the party’s standard bearers for November attended, mingled, and spoke. Later on 96.3/WGOG NEWS we’ll hear from Barbara Jo Mullis, the Democrats’ nominee for Congress, and Brad Hutto, nominee for U-S Senate, rate their chances to defeat Republican incumbents Jeff Duncan and Lindsey Graham. A third Democratic candidate, Vincent Sheheen for Governor, was scheduled to speak to the crowd by a telephone hook-up.
