National POW/MIA Day

Clemson University’s Army and Air force ROTC units hold a ceremony 3:30 to 5:30 this afternoon in Tillman Hall auditorium to mark National POW/MIA Remembrance Day. The ceremony will feature guest speaker Samuel Lewis, a retired Marine officer and Anderson County Veterans Affairs Officer. A 24-hour vigil will be held in front of Tillman at 6 o’clock this evening to 6 tomorrow evening. Cadets will guard a cage that symbolizes soldiers who have been taken prisoner or are listed as missing in action. National POW/MIA Day is held the third Friday of September each year.
