National Signing Day

Clemson is well past halfway to filling its’ 2016 recruiting class. The Tigers count only 13 seniors for 2015 and now have 8 commitments towards the 2016 class after Spartanburg RB Tavien Feaster announced his pledge Wednesday night on National Signing Day. His commitment follows those of WR Cornell Powell of Greenville, NC and LB Jamie Skalski of Newnan, GA earlier in the day. As for 2015, the Tigers landed a top 5 class.

With heavy emphasis on the offensive line and secondary, Furman head football coach Bruce Fowler announced Wednesday the signing of 14 recruits to national letters of intent. The Paladins’ new crop of signees features seven offensive players and seven defenders. Specifically, it includes five defensive backs, four offensive linemen, two running backs, two linebackers, and a tight end.

The South Carolina Gamecocks were able to salvage a top 20 signing class on Wednesday. And, sfter months of speculation about staff changes at USC, Steve Spurrier has reportedly made a move. According ESPN and 247Sports, Jon Hoke will be joining the staff at USC. Chris Low reported he will take over the struggling Gamecock defense. The USC Board of Trustees is meeting at 3:00 Thursday to approve Hoke’s contract. Hoke was most recently an assistant with the Chicago Bears.
