Neck fracture caused driver’s death

An autopsy disclosed that a Seneca man died Sunday night in a Mountain Rest car accident of a fracture to the neck.  41-year old Alton Owens died at the scene on SC 28/the Highlands Highway, eight miles north of Walhalla. Coroner Karl Addis said Owens died of blunt force trauma to the neck, which caused cervical spinal cord trauma.  At the time of the accident during a rain storm, Owens was headed to work as a counselor at a Mountain rest boys’ camp.
