New digital messages for responders

Information from IPad tablets is being made available to as many as 440 Oconee County responders to help them better respond to emergencies. Charlie King, Oconee County Fire Chief, announces that a digital messaging system, from the company Active911, provides fire fighters riding trucks headed to an emergency scene with information about closest hydrants and building pre-plan information. In the past, they’ve had to rely mainly on radio communications for the kinds of info they can now access on a handheld device.
