New Greenville federal courthouse hinges on vote

Funding to start and finish a new federal courthouse in Greenville hinges on a year-end vote by Congress, and Senator Lindsey Graham says he’s pleased.  The new courthouse is to be called the Carroll A. Campbell Jr. Federal Courthouse, to honor the late governor.  It’s expected to be a 10-story building covering two acres across the street from the Greenville County Courthouse on East North Street.  The year-end funding bill before Congress contains $92 million for site design and construction.  Congress has already allocated $11 million for preliminary work.
