New legal team for ex-Clemson University officer

Eric Bland and Ronnie Richter, the Columbia lawyers who represented the estate of Zachary Hammond of Seneca, are now co-counsel for a former Clemson University employee. In a civil court filing Eugene Troutman, former executive secretary for the board of trustees, alleges malicious prosecution by James Barker, while Clemson president, and others for allegedly causing Troutman to be criminally charged in 2010 with grand larceny and computer crimes.  The Greenville-Pickens Solicitor’s Office voluntarily dismissed those charges a year and a half later.  Troutman’s new attorneys, in a filing with the Pickens County Common Pleas Court, seek the compliance of a subpoena and move the case forward.
