The project to bring a Publix supermarket to Clemson will require changes to U-S 123. And Monday the city council will take up a change to the agreement with the Publix shopping center developers, Gateway Tiger (123), LLC. The highway changes are to be made to 123, as well as to the highway approach to Freedom Drive. According to the agreement up for a vote at City Hall Monday night, Clemson will authorize $1 million in state ā€œCā€ funds for the highway 123 work, provided the developer puts in at least $500 thousand.
