No action taken after closed session

Whatever the county attorney said during an executive session apparently was not enough for Oconee County Council to act once the private meeting went back to open session. Left hanging last evening was whether the council will agree to settle an airplane back tax lawsuit, on the terms of the defendants. Unlike last Friday, yesterday’s special meeting was held behind closed door. It was scheduled to allow Tom Martin, the county attorney, to report on his evaluation of the terms that Hangar III, 25 EP Corporation, Jerry Edwards and Steve Edwards have proposed. Neither the council, nor Martin, was comfortable with having their discussions held in front of the public.
