“No criminal acts took place”

 

 

The Westminster interim chief of police has concluded that no criminal acts took place in the case of a man who may have served as reserve officer when he was not certified in that capacity. City Administrator David Smith announced today that Mike Crenshaw, the interim chief, reached his conclusion after discussing his findings with the office of the 10th Circuit Solicitor. Crenshaw started his investigation upon the revelation that Zach Swafford may have served as a reserve officer when Swafford was not certified. Smith’s announcement states, “The City has discontinued its Reserve Officer Program until the Police Chief position is filled on a permanent basis. The new Police Chief will be tasked with assessing the City’s needs and the benefits of a Reserve Officer Program. He will then make a recommendation to the City Council on whether or not to build a new Reserve Officer Program….”
