No Democratic primary in Oconee

This year’s Republican primary is the only game in town for the Oconee County voters.  Because there is no opposition for the Democratic nomination for any office for which voters in Oconee County are eligible to vote, there will be no separate primary this year for Democratic voting.   According to the county elections office, if you have previously requested an absentee ballot for the Democratic Party June 14 you will not be receiving a ballot.  There is no registration by party in South Carolina, which means that any Oconee voter may vote in the Republican primary.
