No fire found at Westminster school

School is in session this morning on regular schedule at West-Oak Middle School—in spite of the presence of fire fighters and their equipment. No fire occurred there. According to Oconee Fire Chief Charlie King, a caller apparently mistook the sight of steam from a heating and air conditioning unit as smoke. But steam was all it was. Out of precaution, fire fighters did a walk-thru of the building and pronounced it OK and safe for another day of school on the Westminster Highway.
