The application process has begun for funds to be made available by next year’s Foothills Gala. Upstate non-profits may apply online or by contacting Cindy Swafford, the executive director. The deadline for applications is October 1 and charities selected will be notified nine days later. Successful charities are to receive money from annual “Diamonds & Denim” fundraiser February 23 at the T. Ed Garrison Arena at. Pendleton. The 2012 event provided checks for $10 thousand to the Gleaning House Ministries of Pickens County, the LOT Project of Anderson County, and Our Daily Rest of Oconee County.
