Noon UPDATE from SC DOT

A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain continues to fall and accumulate. Upper and central areas of the state have snow accumulation of varying amounts. The lower state has been pelted by sleet and freezing rain. State crews are plowing interstates and primary routes with all available plows. Temperatures are well below freezing statewide except for coastal counties which are at freezing. Travel remains not recommended, unless absolutely necessary. And what does the DOT consider necessary? The answer is emergency travel. Temperatures in Oconee, Pickens, Greenville, and Spartanburg counties range between 24 and 27 degrees.
