North Carolinian jailed in Westminster carjacking

A young North Carolinian has been placed in Oconee County jail, as part of a cross-jurisdiction investigation of a carjacking this week in Westminster.  The Sheriff’s Office today announced the following charges against 19-year old Luisito Alexander Bonilla-Rodriguez:  carjacking, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and armed robbery.  By 11 this morning, Bonilla-Rodriguez remained in custody under a combined $90,000 surety bond. The Sheriff’s Office received a call at 5:52pm Tuesday regarding a reported carjacking near Hobson Street and Cornelia Avenue. Word came that a stolen Mustang had been located in the city of Clemson.  Officers are still looking for the second suspect.
