Notre Dame to play Alabama in BCS title game

Notre Dame will play Alabama in the BCS title game next month, a match-up that became official Sunday night when the final standings were released and the Fighting Irish were first and the Crimson Tide second. After Notre Dame clinched its spot last week, Alabama got its ticket to the championship game by beating Georgia 32-28 on Saturday. Notre Dame and Alabama will play for the title on January 7th in Miami. In the other BCS matchups: Northern Illinois will play Florida State in the Orange Bowl; Oregon and Kansas State will play in the Fiesta Bowl; Wisconsin and Stanford will meet in the Rose Bowl; Florida and Louisville will play in the Sugar Bowl.
