November 6 state referendum

Besides President and Sheriff, Oconeeans will decide a question in November that’ll have implications for the men and women who are the future candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor. On state amendment #1 in the General Election, the only statewide question for the ballot this time, a yes vote will favor, beginning in 2018, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor running on the same ticket. State Senator Thomas Alexander says currently 25 states run the two as a ticket. Alexander admits that some of incentive for considering the change is that, during the Sanford-Bauer South Carolina administration, the governor and the lieutenant governor didn’t like each other. More on other aspects of this ballot question can be heard on Sunday’s ‘Community Sound Off’ on 96.3/WGOG.
