Nurse charged with exploting vulnerable adult

A home health nurse has been arrested in Oconee County, charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult.  The arrest of Walhalla resident Chelly Kay Franklin, 50, took place yesterday after an Oconee Sheriff’s Office investigator signed an affidavit to an arrest warrant alleging that, without permission, Franklin used the personal information of an Alzheimer’s patient for whom Franklin’s employer was contracted to care and opened a Walmart/Synchrony Bank credit card for Franklin’s own personal gain.
