Nurse’s aides testify

Former nurse’s aides are testifying for the plaintiff in the Oconee civil trial in which a senior citizens’ facility is accused of abuse and neglect in the death of an 87-year old patient. Today is day two of Reynolds versus Sava Senior Care, known as Seneca Health and Rehabilitation. Kristin Lawless said her experience there gave her concern about the quality of care. She also testified about occasions when feces were found inside shower stalls and on shower chairs and she said the facility is not a place to which she would return to work. Cross-examined by defense attorney Jay Davis about staffing levels, Lawless admitted that only rarely did she care for Dorothy Reynolds, for whom the lawsuit was filed. And the nurse’s aide said she could not say how many care givers worked there on any particular day. Lawless was followed the stand by another nurse’s aide, Amy Gibby.
