NYC Marathon still set for Sunday

Despite the battering New York City took from Hurricane Sandy, which has left the subways out of service and lower Manhattan without power, Mayor Mike Bloomberg is saying that the city’s annual marathon is still set to take place on Sunday (November 4th). There are lots of challenges to that happening, however, including runners getting flights in from out of town, and actually getting everyone to the starting line in Staten Island. About half of the runners would normally take the Staten Island Ferry to the start and others would take buses through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel. However, both are now closed because of flooding.
