OC educators to strategize on Thursday

March 4, 2014

Danielle Queen and Dr. Wayne Frady of Hamilton Career Center will represent Oconee County educators  this week at a forum to strategize and develop action plans to encourage high school students to choose careers in advanced manufacturing. The Anderson, Oconee and Pickens Business and Education Forum takes place Thursday morning at the Madren Conference Center at Clemson University. The top concern for today’s manufacturers is finding skilled workers, especially young people who have the math and science skills as well as the soft skills for today’s sophisticated workplace. There’s also a misconception that manufacturing careers amount to menial tasks on an assembly line.
