OC students at the fair

October 12, 2012

About 750 Oconee students, along with a fifth grade group from Clemson Elementary, took part last week in Ag Days at the Carolina Foothills Heritage Fair. About 30 exhibits, from composting to calf roping, were available for the students to experience. In the barn the students also saw horses, chickens, pigs, and alpacas. Christina Alexander, agricultural teacher and FFA advisor, said, “Our youth need to be educated about the food we eat, the clothes we wear and every other aspect of agriculture….”
