Oconee emergencies

A man in a home near Salem required a medical helicopter transport last night for injuries in a crushing-type accident. Those injuries are said to have been suffered when a granite counter cover fell on the man at a home on Quarter Mile Road near north highway 11. He was flown to a Greenville hospital. At an opposite side of the county, fire fighters battled a tractor and hay fire for one hour late yesterday afternoon near the Bowen chicken houses on the West-Oak Highway. Rescue personnel were required to attend to a medical complaint from one person at the fire scene.
