Oconee holds property option for Tech campus

Oconee County holds an option to buy property for Tri-County Technical College to build an Oconee campus. The college, based in Pendleton, already has campuses in its two other service counties—Anderson and Pickens. But the lack of one is a sore point with Oconee leaders. At a meeting last night, Oconee County Administrator Scott Moulder said the county holds a one-year option to buy property. “….we do have this site identified, if it is suitable,” Moulder told a budget committee of the county council. Neither the location, nor the property was disclosed. On Monday Dr. Ronnie Booth, Tech president, said a committee is at work on the project, but said the key “is a piece of dirt.”
