Oconee included in Act 98 projects

Oconee County bridge construction and road re-surfacing work projects help make for an addition to the 2105 Act 98 Non-Federal Aid Pavement Improvement Program. The statewide program is being increased by an additional $40 million—the result of Act 98 revenues exceeding initial projections. Projects, worth more than $3 milllion dollars, are in the pipeline for Oconee. They include $1 million worth of bridge work both on secondary 13 over Richland Creek and secondary 531 over Perkins Creek. The resurfacing projects cover, among other roads, parts of SC 243, 182, 24, and 107. A public comment period is now underway and, based on review of any submitted comments, the projects are to be included in the February letting.
