Oconee judged Work Ready

State and county officials are touting a new accomplishment for Oconee County. Oconee is one of three counties added to a list of 29 South Carolina counties certified as work ready. Besides Oconee, the others added were Hampton and Spartanburg. They meet specified workforce and education goals, demonstrating to business a strong workforce and commitment to economic growth. An announcement by Governor Haley says, “To become a South Carolina Work Ready Community, a county has to reach or exceed goals in earning National Career Readiness Certificates (achieved through WorkKeys testing), meet or exceed the three-year graduation rate average of improvement percentage, and engage business support.”
