As the month of April begins,OconeeMedicalCenteris unveiling a new state of the art hospital information system.  The new Paragon system is expected to enhance quality, safety and efficiency through the seamless sharing of information.  The system went live at 7 am this morning.  Jeanne Ward, President and CEO of Oconee Medical center says the new system “is just as important as the opening of our new patient tower in 2009.”  The system will use a single record for every patient regardless of the department delivering care, and streamlines the entire patient care process from admission to discharge. Hunter Kome, Oconee Medical Center’s chief operating officer says the new system will allow doctors, nurses and other care givers to communicate information more quickly which will result in better outcomes for patients.
