Oconee tax deadline arrives this weekend

An Oconee County tax deadline arrives this weekend.  Taxpayers wanting to qualify for a deduction for the 2016 year have until the close of business Friday to pay those bills in person or by mail Saturday providing the letters are postmarked no later than Saturday, December 31.  Those who satisfy their debt on line have until 11:59 Saturday night.  Because county offices are following a shortened week, Treasurer Greg Nowell anticipates lines of taxpayers at Pine Street tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday.  County offices are closed today.
