Oconeean charged with impersonating policewoman

A 43-year old Oconee County woman has been arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer. An announcement by the Sheriff’s Office states that Clara Irene Williams of the Sunset Shores home development was arrested and charged Friday afternoon after an incident at the Oconee County Chau Ram Park near Westminster. A park ranger attempted to write a trespass notice against Williams when, according to the Sheriff’s Office, Williams claimed to be a state police agent and threatened to have the park ranger arrested. A deputy said Williams was unable to produce a SLED identification and a check with that agency showed she had never been an employee there.
