Oconeean faces insurance fraud charges

A 54-year old Oconee County man has been released from jail on a personal recognizance bond after his arrest yesterday on charges of presenting false claims to insurance companies. According to law enforcement sources, Timothy Mark Mize of the Earles Grove Road, Westminster was released on personal recognizance bonds totaling $45 thousand dollars. Warrants issued by Magistrate Todd Simmons and signed by SLED agent Joe Jordan Jr. allege Mize presented false claims to three insurance companies claiming a pre-existing injury that was documented by medical records. The arrest affidavits show the victims of the alleged crimes were Stonelidge Insurance Company, in the amount of $50 thousand dollars; Lloyds of London Insurance Company, in the amount of $250 thousand dollars; and Chubb Insurance Company, in the amount of $500 thousand dollars.
