Oconeeans urged to help welcome visitors

Iced tea, lemonade and baked items are among the goodies that South Carolinians can offer to those who drive to the Palmetto State and make a stop at the state’s welcome centers.  Ahead of National Travel and Tourism Week, tourism manager Dawn Duncan at the Welcome Center on I-85 at Fair Play is turning to the Oconee community for help to make the visitors’ welcome.  It’s also a way for those in the Oconee business community to promote what they have to offer the visitor.  Duncan invites members of the Oconee business community to set up a table, chairs and, if possible, a tent on the grounds of the Fair Play Welcome Center for a “Grand Celebration” event Friday, May 6 from 9:30 a-m to 4 p-m.
