Oconee’s 2012 campaign winds down

Competing with the World Series and a televised Clemson game made for a small audience at last night’s League of Women Voters’ forum in Seneca. However, Oconee political observers are telling 96.3/WGOG NEWS that attendance at this fall’s forums has dropped, and they’ve failed to duplicate the drama that last spring’s forums featured when James Bartee waged his campaign for sheriff. Nevertheless, those who sat inside the Gignilliat Center last night took advantage of an opportunity to size up the six men who are waging bids for two seats on the Oconee County Council. Through out the day, we’ll have excerpts of some lively interchanges from the candidates for council seats 4 and 5.
