Oconee’s Officer of the Year

A uniform patrol officer has been recognized as the Oconee County Officer of the Year.  The award, sponsored by Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams, went to Sgt. Bryan Long during the Anderson, Oconee and Pickens Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet last week at Anderson’s T-L Hanna High school.  The event is held to benefit the scholarship fund for criminal justice programs at both Anderson University and Tri-County Technical College.  Long is a member of the Sheriff Office “SWAT” team, the dive team, and is an instructor for his employer.  He’s also a volunteer fire fighter.  In February, Long received the law enforcement officer of the year award from the American Legion in Seneca.
