October’s job picture in South Carolina

Oconee’s jobless numbers in October dropped below the state average. The state saw a slight increase in those who filed claims for being out of work. Oconee’s October figures dropped 0.5% to 6.3%. It was 6.8% in September. According to the Department of Employment and Workforce, South Carolina’s labor force hit an all-time high in October, but the state’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate increased from 6.6% to 6.7%.
