Officers undergo “de-contamination”

Two Oconee sheriff’s officers are undergoing a de-contamination process today after reporting headaches and burning of the skin, as they attempted to carry out an eviction today in the Fair Play community. Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says the officers were being given showers at the community’s volunteer fire station. No one was home at the Fair Play house, to which the officers carried eviction papers. The immediate suspicion is that there may have been methamphetamine on the premises, and Crenshaw says his office is obtaining a search warrant for the house.
