Relaxing and picturesque as it might be to traverse, the new Sheep Farm Road will carry no designation as a scenic by-way that would entail rules impairing development. The extended rural highway near Seneca built without grass medians will not be pursued as scenic, in accord with last night’s vote by the Oconee County Council. The council upheld its planning commission’s recommendation against scenic designation. It acted without dissent and with little discussion. Chairman Joel Thrift excused himself and left the room, saying he has a family member involved.
