OMC incident leads to Townville man’s arrest

An incident in the labor and delivery section of Oconee Medical Center has resulted in the arrest of a Townville man. The arrest by the Sheriff’s Office of James Clayton Webb took place yesterday based, in part, to an alleged incident a year and a half ago. An arrest affidavit charges the 46-year old Webb with assault and battery third degree, accusing Webb on October 17, 2012 of inflicting bodily harm to a woman in the hospital by pulling a jacket over her head—dislodging an IV needle which was providing her medication. Sheriff’s officers quoted the victim as saying Webb was a former boyfriend. Webb was also arrested and charged with burglary first degree and criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
