OMC to open SC’s first hospital dental clinic

September 24, 2013

Although put together in what hospital officials call a tight form, the new Oconee Medical Center budget is to offer new services—including the first hospital dental clinic in South Carolina. OMC’s Cortni Nations says the 4th floor clinic is to be staffed by a dental hygienist, but will rely on volunteer professionals to pull teeth. The lack of dental care for uninsured community residents ranks among the top health needs in the community, according to a study commissioned by OMC.
