OMC’s emergency department to get upgrade

May 29, 2013

The 16-year old emergency department is in line for a half-million dollar upgrade. A donor’s gift will pay $114 thousand of that cost. OMC’s Todd Walker told the board of directors last night that the work will be done in phases to allow the emergency department to continue to see patients during renovations. The emergency department counts more than 39 thousand patients a year, though it was built to handle 25 thousand. Work should begin in July.
