One arrested in neglect case, second person sought

One Oconeean has been arrested in a case alleging child neglect. A second person, as of yesterday, was still being sought. The Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest Friday of Anita Crystal Waters. The 31-year old School House Road, Westminster woman was charged with three counts of unlawful neglect of a child and was booked into jail late Friday afternoon. Deputies received information from DSS and warrants were signed. According to investigators, Waters exposed a 14 and 10-year old male and a five-year old female to methamphetamines and both the victims and the defendants tested positive for meth. The Sheriff’s Office reports three outstanding warrants alleging unlawful neglect of a child against Waters’ husband—Jesse Logan Waters.
